Basic First Aid Awareness

Scope (Target Group)
All people or personnel who wish to have a basic understanding of first aid or be able to administer basic first aid in the workplace.

Structure of the Course (Course Content)
 Understand the role of the first-aider including reference to:
 The importance of preventing cross infection;
 The need for recording incidents and actions;
 Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and
effectively in an emergency;
 Use of available equipment;
 Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation;

Certification & Approvals
QISC Awareness certificate

Validity
3 years, however the HSE recommend refresher training every year
