Basic First Aid, CPR and AED Training
1.Target Group
Anyone who are required to render immediate first aid to ill and injured person prior to arrival of professional help.
2.Delegate Pre-requisites
No pre-requisite required for this course
3.Physical and Stressful Demands
There are no physical and stressful demands in this course, however the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing
appropriate medical screening form provided by QISC in order to ensure that the delegates are fit and well to participate fully.
4.Aims and Objectives
This training course aimed to provide the workplace with trained personnel who are able to deal safely and effectively with a person who has been
injured or suffered sudden illness prior to medical aid being obtained.
5.Learning Outcomes / Assessment Criteria
By the end of this course, successful candidates should:
Be able to understand the role of the First Aider
Be able to assess an incident
Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty (Adult & child) who is
breathing normally
Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty (Adult & child) who is not
breathing normally (perform CPR and use of an AED)
Be able to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking
Be able to manage a casualty with external bleeding
Be able to manage a casualty who is in shock
Be able to manage a casualty suffering from major illnesses (heart attack,
stroke and an epileptic (seizures) attack
Be able to manage a casualty with a minor burns and scalds
Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones,
muscles and joints
Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected head and
spinal injuries.
Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with specialised burn injuries.
Be able to administer first aid to a casualty suffering from industrial
poisoning
Be able to manage a casualty suffering from Anaphylaxis (Allergic
reaction)
Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with bites and stings from
snake, bees, spider, etc.
Be able to administer first aid to a casualty suffering from hyperthermia
(heat related emergencies) and hypothermia.
6.Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
Delegate Performance Assessment: This is competency based course includes
practical and written assessments
Certification: QISC Approved Certification with 2 years validity.
