Fire Warden Refresher
1. Target Group
This course is designed for the personnel nominated as Fire Warden Assistance performing fire safety routine and general safety.
2. Delegate Pre-requisites
There are no prerequisite entry requirements for this qualification.
3. Physical and Stressful Demands
All personnel who participates in practical activities specified in this course must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully. All students will be
asked to complete a Qatar International Safety Centre standard medical questionnaire prior to course commencement.
4. Aims and Objectives
To provide the necessary knowledge to the delegates about the process and theory of combustion, means of escape, methods of fire spread, methods of
detection, fire hazards in the workplace, use of extinguishers, action to be taken in the event of an alarm.
5. Learning Outcomes / Assessment Criteria
On completion of the course, delegate must be able to:
Explain the sources of fire (Heat, Fuel and Oxygen)
Understanding the different type of fire classification (BS & NFPA)
Understanding the fire prevention
State and describe the various ways in which fire spreads
State the common hazards in the workplace known to lead to an outbreak of fire
Define Means of Escape
Explain the importance of maintaining adequate means of escape
Understanding the common fire extinguishers used in Qatar
6. Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
The course is a competence based course that includes oral discussion, and practical assessment.
