Personal Survival Techniques (PST)

Scope (Target Audience)
All personnel entering into the Maritime Industry.

Objective
This course is part of the mandatory basic training for all seafarers, split into both theory and practical, including launching and entering a life raft, actions
to be taken for self protection in emergency situations, survival at sea and deployment of safety equipment.

Structure of the course (Course Content)
 Introduction safety and survival
 Emergency situations
 Survival craft and rescue boats
 Personal life‐saving appliances
 Personal life‐saving appliances (demonstrations)
 Survival at sea
 Emergency radio equipment (lecture and demonstrations)
 Helicopter assistance

Pre‐requisite
Delegates must be at least 16 years of age.
