Scope (Target Audience)
Managers, supervisors, workers and any personnel involved with the safe operation, use and supervision of MCWP/BMU Man cage Hoists

Pre-requisite
There are no pre-requisites for Initial Training Programed.

Aims and Objectives
This course is designed for participants to understand the engineering principles and safe operational practice of MCWPs, BMU and Man Cage Hoists.
To give the participants the skill and knowledge required to operate the equipment safely and effectively

Structure of Course (Course Content)
Roles and responsibilities of an Operator
 Introduction to the MCWPs, BMU /Man cage Hoist.
 Health & Safety Regulations: Detailed in BS—7981 and BS EN 1495
 Stability, Identify the maximum load that the Equipment will support. (Based on PUWER 1998)
 MCWP/BMU Familiarization.
 Start and travel procedure.
 Emergency & Evacuation Procedure.
 Carry out pre use checks, Servicing and inspection.
 Lockout Tag out procedure
 Awareness on Work at Height.
 Use of Safety Harness and Inspection
 Identify hazards associated with the use of MCWP and BMU Man cage Hoist.

Assessment:
The course is a competency based course but will include interactive questioning throughout classroom presentation.
The practical session will be assessed with respect to measurement of objectives and their subject. The operator may be asked questions periodically in
relation to the work environment. Briefing will be given relating to specific tasks to be achieves whilst moving, working and transferring. Each moving and
transferring operator must be able to successfully demonstrate and explain of these tasks in order to be recorded as a competent Operator.

Certification & Approvals
Persons successfully completing the Training Programme will be issued a QISC certificate

Health & Fitness
All delegates will be asked to complete a Qatar International Safety Centre standard medical questionnaire prior to course commencement.
