Advanced Firefighting Training [Referenced to NFPA 1081 Standard]
1. Target Group
This course is appropriate for all emergency response personnel, including fireprevention, suppression, control, and safety personnel. Potential attendees
could include operators, maintenance personnel, Laboratory personnel, Engineers, Electricians/Instrumentation techs and Security personnel
2. Delegate Pre-requisites
There are no formal pre-requisites for this Training programme.
3. Physical and Stressful Demands
Training and assessment activities contained within this Standard may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who
participate in such activities must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully. Therefore, to ensure that prior to participating in practical
exercises, the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing appropriate medical screening form provided by QISC.
4. Aims and Objectives
The aim and objectives of the Training Programme are to equip the delegate with the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to perform the role
of Emergency Response Team member effectively. This course will provide your new members, as well as existing emergency response personnel with
a solid foundation of knowledge and skills that may be used to safely resolve emergencies your facility. All of this is accomplished through a combination
of classroom presentations and field exercises.

Chemical incidents (including demonstrations)
Incident stabilization including cooling and isolation
Internal/ External firefighting including Class A, B & C
Hose running
Hose reels
Hose handling operations
Extinguishers
Foam equipment
Control firefighting operation in ships
Rescue procedures
Fire-detection and fire extinguishing systems and equipment
Investigation and compilation reports awareness regarding incidents
involving fire.
6. Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
Delegate Performance Assessment: Delegates will be assessed against the knowledge learning outcomes by written, open-book test and the practical
learning outcomes by direct observation.
Certification: QISC Approved Certification with Two Years validity
