Asbestos Awareness

1.Target Group
This three-hour course is designed to address the basic training requirements for personnel who need to work on or near asbestos containing materials.

2.Delegate Pre-requisites

3.Physical and Stressful Demands
There are no physical and stressful demands in this course, however the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing
appropriate medical screening form provided by QISC in order to ensure that the delegates are fit and well to participate fully.

4.Aims and Objectives
The aims and objectives of the training are to ensure that the participant gains the required knowledge and understanding of the health risks involved,
relating to activities where asbestos containing materials are in use.

5.Learning Outcomes / Assessment Criteria
To be made aware of:
 What is asbestos?
 Why asbestos is a problem?
 Where do we find asbestos?
 What health problems do we get from asbestos?
 Who are likely to be exposed to it?
 What should we be doing to protect ourselves?

6.Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
Delegate Performance Assessment: This is an awareness course and includes
an observational written assessment.
Certification: QISC Approved Certification with 3 years validity.
