Basic Fire Awareness

1.Target Group
This course is an awareness course mainly for staff for staff in a low-hazard buildings or occupations

2.Delegate Pre-requisites

3.Physical and Stressful Demands
There are no physical and stressful demands in this course, however the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing
appropriate medical screening form provided by QISC in order to ensure that the delegates are fit and well to participate fully

4.Aims and Objectives
This 2 hour course is designed to explain the duties and responsibilities of all persons in respect or preventing fires, and the actions to take if a fire
occurs.

5.Learning Outcomes / Assessment Criteria
Upon course completion of this course participants will understand:
 Main causes of fire
 Fire precautions
 Alarm systems
 Structural fire protection and detection system
 Fire procedures
 Duties and responsibilities of all persons
 Duties of fire wardens in the event of fire

6.Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
Delegate Performance Assessment: This is an awareness course and includes
an observational written assessment.
Certification: QISC Approved Certification with Three years validity
