Basic Fire Extinguisher Training / Basic Fire Fighting Training

*1. Target Group
This course is designed to give a basic level of competency using firefighting equipment in a safe manner and give underpinning knowledge of what to
do in the event of fire in the workplace and recognize potential fire hazards.

*2. Delegate Pre-requisites
There is no pre-requisites on this training.

*3. Physical and Stressful Demands
All personnel who participates in practical activities specified in this course mustbe physically and mentally capable of participating fully. All students will
be asked to complete a Qatar International Safety Centre standard medical questionnaire prior to course commencement.

*4. Aims and Objectives
 To emphasize the importance of rising the fire alarm
 Identifying the different types of portable fire extinguisher
 Basic knowledge of proper usage of fire hose and fire blanket (First Aid
Fire Fighting Equipment)

*5. Learning Outcomes / Assessment Criteria
 What is fire and methods of extinguishing fire?
 State and describe the various ways in which fire spreads
 State the classes of fire
 State the common hazards in the workplace known to lead to an outbreak
of fire
 List the different types of fire detector
 Select the appropriate portable extinguisher for use of a small fire
 Extinguish a small fire

*6. Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
Performance Assessment: – Oral QA Practical demonstration Observation
Certification: QISC Certification
Validity: – 3 years.
