Basic Scaffolding Inspection (BSI)
1.Target Group
Site supervisors, maintenance technician and managers who are responsible for inspecting and checking scaffolds for safe use, and for signing certificates
and registers in accordance with statutory regulations.
2.Delegate Pre-requisites
No pre-requisites required.
3.Physical and Stressful Demands
Training and/or assessment activities contained within this Standard may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel
who participate in such activities must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully. Therefore to ensure that prior to participating in practical
exercises, the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing appropriate medical screening form provided by QISC.
4.Aims and Objectives
Delegates enable to identify and names scaffolding components and their function, correct inspection procedures of basic type scaffolds, to comply with
relevant current legislation and Codes of Practice.
5.Learning Outcomes / Assessment Criteria
To successfully complete this course, delegates must able to
• Identify common defects of scaffolding parts
• Identify common hazards to the scaffold
• State the international best practice standard in scaffolding
• Identify the ground condition that can affect the scaffold structure stability
• Explain the three parts of scafftag system and their purpose
• Demonstrate how to inspect basic scaffold structures and complete the
scaffold inspection report

Delegate Performance Assessment: Practical Test & Written Test
Certification: QISC Certification with Two Years validity
