Bottle Watch and Supplied Air Breathing Apparatus (SABA)
1. Target Group
This course is designed for personnel who will work as Bottle Watch and will be responsible in protecting the safety of the personnel performing breathing
air work.
2. Delegate Pre-requisites
There are no prerequisite entry requirements for this qualification.
3. Physical and Stressful Demands
All personnel who participates in practical activities specified in this course must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully. All students will
be asked to complete a Qatar International Safety Centre standard medical questionnaire prior to course commencement.
4. Aims and Objectives
This course is aimed to train personnel on how to carry out pre-wearer checks, donning and doffing as well as basic maintenance of these lifesaving
equipment.
5. Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of the course, delegate will be able to:
Perform Bottle Watch duties
Understand the capabilities and limitations of breathing air systems
Aware of some of the common hazards associated with performing Bottle
Watch duties
Understand how to inspect, don and doff SABA
6. Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
This is a competency based course, delegates will be assess in written and practical assessment.
