COSHH Awareness

1.Target Group
This programme is designed to help give advice and guidance on assessing their activities under the control of Substances Hazardous to Health
Regulations 2002 (COSHH). COSHH sets out a basic system for managing to risk to health. The Legal requirement is for assessment to be ‘suitable
and sufficient’

3.Physical and Stressful Demands
There are no physical and stressful demands in this course, however the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing
appropriate medical screening form provided by QISC in order to ensure that the delegates are fit and well to participate fully

4.Aims and Objectives
This course is designed to be aware of requirement of COSHH

5.Learning Outcomes / Assessment Criteria
Upon course completion of this course participants will understand:
 Understand help with risk assessment
 Learn methods of information gathering at their workplace
 Understand the evaluation of risk on groups or individuals and drawing conclusions
 Understand the selection of measures to prevent or control exposure whilst maintain the control measures
 Know when and why assessment needs to be reviewed
 Know who will be able to carry out the risk assessments
 Understand a realistic balance between risk and costs

6.Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
Delegate Performance Assessment: This is an awareness course and includes an observational written assessment.
Certification: QISC Approved Certification with Three years validity
