Electrical Safety Awareness
1. Target Group
This two-hour course is aimed at personnel involved with electrical works; and will provide awareness on the risks associated with electricity, including
hazard recognition and precautions to be taken for a safe working environment; alongside instruction on what to do in the event of an electrical accident.
2. Delegate Pre-requisites
There are no pre-requisites on this course.
3. Physical and Stressful Demands
There are no physical and stressful demands in this course, however the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing appropriate
medical screening form provided by QISC in order to ensure that the delegates are fit and well to participate fully.
4. Aims and Objectives
This course is aimed to improve awareness of electrical hazards and to provide basic knowledge and information on working safely around electricity and
electrical systems.
5. Learning Outcomes / Assessment Criteria
Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:
• Understand common electrical terminologies
• Understand safe practices to prevent electrical accidents
• Explain how to protect individuals from electrical hazards
• Explain different types of electrical hazards
• Understand causes of electrical accidents and injuries
• Define hazard and risk
6. Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
Delegate Performance Assessment: This is an awareness course and includes observational written assessment.
Certification: QISC Approved Certification with Three years validity
