Hand Injury Training
1. Target Group
This one-hour course is aimed at any personnel involved in using their hands to perform any tasks, particularly whilst using hand tools or power tools.
It includes hazard recognition and precautions to be taken for a safe working environment.
2. Delegate Pre-requisites
There are no pre-requisites on this course.
3. Physical and Stressful Demands
Training and/or assessment activities contained within this Standard may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel
who participate in such activities must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully.
Therefore to ensure that prior to participating in practical exercises, the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing appropriate
medical screening form provided by QISC
4. Aims and Objectives
This course is aimed to raise our awareness of hand/finger injury and to provide basic knowledge and information on keeping them safe.
5. Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:
Understand traumatic consequences of becoming distracted, using improper gloves, wearing jewelry around moving machinery, failing to pay attention
to our work, attempting job tasks we aren’t qualified to perform, nip points, entanglement hazards, failure to use of assist devices, unsafe use of hand and
power tools and use of makeshift tools.
Understand where the hazards and risks are.
To raise our awareness of the risks of hand/finger injury we face every day and their preventive measures.

Delegate Performance Assessment: This is an awareness course only and includes observation and group interactions only.
