NEBOSH Award in Health and Safety at Work

1. Target Group
This course is based on international standards and is aimed at anyone who needs to understand the principles of health and safety as part of their job.

2. Delegate Pre-requisites
No previous health and safety knowledge is required, therefore the Award is suitable for all individuals that wish to have a basic knowledge of health and
safety.

3. Physical and Stressful Demands
All personnel who participates in practical activities specified in this course must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully. Therefore to
ensure that prior to participating in practical exercises, the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing appropriate medical
screening form provided by QISC.

4. Aims and Objectives
This course aim to improve the health and safety culture of organizations by equipping the workforce and others to be able to identify and deal with hazards
at work, helping them to reduce accidents and achieve costs saving.

5. Learning Outcomes / Assessment Criteria
The learner will be able to understand:

 The responsibility for health and safety
 The health and safety risk assessment and control
 Work equipment
 Transport safety
 Working with electricity
 Fire safety
 Manual handling and repetitive activities

6. Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
Delegate Performance Assessment: The qualification is divided into two assessed units, each of which is assessed separately. Assessment is done by
one multiple choice examination (Unit HSW1) and a work-based risk assessment (Unit HSW2), which tests the ability to apply the knowledge gained
during the course to workplace situations.
Certification: NEBOSH certification (certificate issuance will take minimum of 30 days from the course completion)
