Rigging & Slinging / Banksman Awareness
1.Target Group
Employees who are involved in moving loads by a mechanical lifting device (Crane and other load handling equipment).
2.Delegate Pre-requisites
There is no pre-requisites required.
3.Physical and Stressful Demands
There are no physical and stressful demands in this course, however the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing appropriate
medical screening form provided by QISC in order to ensure that the delegates are fit and well to participate fully.
4.Aims and Objectives
This course aim is to raise awareness of Rigging & Slinging activities at throughout the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Operational sector
and beyond. The training concentrates on the basics of load movement activities and hazards.
5.Learning Outcomes / Assessment Criteria
At the end of the training delegates shall be able to be aware of the following.
Roles and responsibilities of the site personnel (Sling/Banksman/Operator/Appointed Person.)
Safety regulations regarding the use of cranes
Basic crane operating principles
How to control loads while Rigging & Slinging
Limitations of Lifting Activity and moving loads in confined spaces
Limitations of Lifting equipment and accessories
Conducting Pre use checks on equipment
The effects of slings angle on the SWL /WLL
Crane, Load and Environmental Hazards
Sling angles and its tension
Banksman hand Signal
6.Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
Delegate Performance Assessment:
This is just an awareness course, however the course includes the assessment through verbal questioning with respect to measurement of objectives and
their subject at the end of the course.
Certification: QISC Approved Certification with Two years validity.
