Scope (Target Group)
This 3 Days course has been designed for those who wish to develop their career in scaffolding and for those scaffolders who do not have sufficient
knowledge but wish to gain further understanding and development.
Aims and Objectives
By the end of this course, the delegate will be able to:
• Be familiar with legislation & codes of practice
• State the current specifications and limitations relating to scaffold materials
• Identify and explain the various types and uses of scaffold fittings & load calculations
• Inspect and identify the most common defects which may occur in scaffold materials
• Identify the main component of a scaffold and state their function
• Identify an independent, birdcage and tower scaffold
• Explain the different ground conditions which ensure the correct action have been taken to provide a safe and stable foundation for the scaffold structure
• List the various component part, state their terminology and describe their correct positioning
• Understand the importance of ties
• know the correct types of ties and their SWL
• Understand the process of carrying our safe erection and dismantling of basic scaffolds.

Day 2 (Practical element-safe erection and dismantling of basic scaffold)
Day 3 (Assessment-written & practical elements)

Practical demonstration-Delegates will be divided in a group and asked to erect/dismantle basic scaffold with the reference to the sketch provided
Pre-requisite
No pre-requisite, however, basic understanding in scaffolding work will be an advantage
