Waste and Hazardous Materials Handling Awareness
1. Target Group
This 4 hours training program is designed to enable learner to identify, classify, handle, transport, treat and dispose of hazardous waste correctly and in
accordance with relevant legislation.

3. Physical and Stressful Demands
There are no physical and stressful demands in this course, however the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing appropriate
medical screening form provided by QISC in order to ensure that the delegates are fit and well to participate fully.
4. Aims and Objectives
The aim of this course is to provide learner with knowledge on the guidance of managing hazardous waste in the workplace and understanding on the risk
assessment process and their responsibilities to reduce the risk so far as is reasonably practicable.
5. Learning Outcomes / Assessment Criteria
By the end of this course delegates will able to:
Identify the key legislation applicable to the handling of hazardous waste
Identify hazardous waste
Understand the waste classification system
Understand Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)
Identify the correct storage and transportation requirements for hazardous waste
Understand reuse, recycling, treatment and disposal options available for hazardous waste
Understand the benefit of environmental management
Identify the good practice for the workplace and pollution prevention measures
Identify measures that can be implemented to reduce the environmental impacts
6. Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
Delegate Performance Assessment: This is an awareness course and includes an observational assessment.
Certification: QISC Approved Certification with Three years validity
