Work at Height Awareness

1. Target Group
This four-hour course is intended to provide industry personnel with an awareness of the hazards and requirements associated with works carried out at
height.

2. Delegate Pre-requisites
N/A

3. Physical and Stressful Demands
There are no physical and stressful demands in this course, however the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing appropriate
medical screening form provided by QISC in order to ensure that the delegates are fit and well to participate fully.

4. Aims and Objectives
The aims and objectives of this course is to provide the delegates necessary information about the hazards and risk involved in working at height activities
and ensure that they understand the fundamental health and safety requirements to be in place whilst working at height.

5. Learning Outcomes / Assessment Criteria
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
 Recognize hazards of Working at Heights
 Explain the hierarchy of controls related to Working at Heights
 Explain the limitations of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
 Explain when the travel restraint system, fall restricting system and fall arrest system, would be required, and the essential component of each
 Identify the consequences of using inappropriate anchor points
 Provide examples of the types of personal fall protection equipment that is needed to safely work on work access equipment and platforms
 Explain the purpose of a Working at Heights rescue plan

6. Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
Delegate Performance Assessment: This is an awareness course and includes an observational written assessment.
Certification: QISC Approved Certification with Three years validity
