Advanced First Aid (First Aid at Work)

1.Target Group
This 3 days course is designed for those who are acting as a First Aider in the workplace or who currently acts as a First Aid Responder reporting to the
medic. It would also apply to those who want a greater depth of knowledge in first aid.

3.Physical and Stressful Demands
All personnel who participates in practical activities specified in this course must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully. Therefore, to
ensure that prior to participating in practical exercises, the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing appropriate medical
screening form provided by QISC.

4.Aims and Objectives
This training course aimed to provide the workplace with trained personnel who are able to deal safely and effectively with a person who has been injured
or suffered sudden illness prior to medical aid being obtained.

5.Learning Outcomes / Assessment Criteria
Upon completion of course participants must be able to:
Understand the role of the First Aider
Assess an incident
Manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
Manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
Recognize and assist a casualty who is choking
Manage a casualty with external bleeding
Manage a casualty who is in shock
Manage an epileptic casualty
Manage a casualty with a minor burns and scalds
Manage a casualty with foreign objects
Conduct secondary surveys
Administer first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints
Administer first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries.
Administer first aid to a casualty with suspected chest and abdominal injuries
Administer first aid to a casualty with specialized burn injuries

6.Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
Delegate Performance Assessment: This is competency based course includes
practical and written assessments
Certification: QISC certification with 3 Years validity.
