1.Target Group
This is an awareness course for anybody wishing to understand the nature of scaffolding work.

2.Delegate Pre-requisites
No pre-requisites required.

3.Physical and Stressful Demands
Training and/or assessment activities contained within this Standard may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel
who participate in such activities must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully.
Therefore to ensure that prior to participating in practical exercises, the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing appropriate
medical screening form provided by QISC

4.Aims and Objectives
To provide an introduction to scaffolding, covering the safe erection, alteration and dismantling of a range of scaffolding structures.

5.Learning Outcomes / Assessment Criteria
To successfully complete this course, delegates must able to
• Identify scaffolding parts and their function
• Identify basic scaffold structures
• Identify platform requirements
• Identify load classes of basic scaffold structure
• Identify if scaffold structure is safe to use

6.Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
Delegate Performance Assessment: Practical Test & Written Test
Certification: QISC Approved Certification with Two Years validity

7.Instructor & Delegate Ratio
Maximum ratio 1:20
Minimum ratio 1:5

8.Duration and Timing
1 day (Classroom theory, Practical scaffold inspection)
