Dropped Object Prevention Training

1. Target Group
This course is designed for workers who required to work at heights or any personnel that are exposed to dropped objects at work.

2. Delegate Pre-requisites
There are no prerequisite entry requirements for this qualification.

3. Physical and Stressful Demands
Training and/or assessment activities contained within this Standard may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel
who participate in such activities must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully.
Therefore to ensure that prior to participating in practical exercises, the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing appropriate
medical screening form provided by QISC

4. Aims and Objectives
This course is aimed to raise awareness of dropped objects throughout the oil and gas industry and beyond. The training concentrates on the basics of
dropped object hazard, risk assessment and effective risk management.

5. Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of the course, delegate will be able to:
 Understand and define what is a potential dropped object
 Understand the Industry Guidelines for prevention of dropped objects
 Types of potential drops (static and dynamic drops)
 Identify a potential dropped object and the common causes
 Explain the reporting requirements and how to use DROP Calculator
 Explain the Static DROPS Prevention, i.e. securing fastening
 Explain the issues and discuss prevention on Dynamic DROPS
 Identify the Zone management and responsibilities

6. Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
Delegate Performance Assessment: This is an awareness course and delegates will be assess in written and practical assessment.
Certification: QISC Approved Certification with Three years validity
