Hot Work Awareness

1.Target Group
This course is aimed at those learners, who perform hot work, supervisors and anyone who is involved in any hot work activities.

2.Delegate Pre-requisites
There are no prerequisites required for Hot Work Awareness Training.

3.Physical and Stressful Demands
There are no physical and stressful demands in this course, however the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing appropriate
medical screening form provided by QISC in order to ensure that the delegates are fit and well to participate fully.

4.Aims and Objectives
The aims and objectives of the training are to ensure that the delegate understands the hazards associated with hot works and know how to prevent fire or
explosion from occurring, understands the requirements prior to executing hot works and have a better understanding and applying the specific safety
requirements associated with welding activities and be fully equipped to execute hot work activities without resulting to any losses.

5.Learning Outcomes / Assessment Criteria
After successful completion of the training, the learners will have better
understanding of the following:
 Introduction of Hot Work
 Hot Work Permit
 Fire Watch
 PPE’s
 Respiratory Protection
 Welding Equipment Checks
 Hot work in Confined space
 Using the welding equipment
 Fire safety precautions
 Compressed gas cylinders
 Safe practices

6.Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
Delegate Performance Assessment: This qualification is assessed by multiplechoice examinations. Learners must complete 10 questions within 20 minutes.
Successful learners will need to achieve a mark of 80% (8/10) overall to pass.
Certification: QISC certification with 3 Years validity. (Certification Issuance will be after the successful completion of course.)

7.Instructor & Delegate Ratio
The following ratios indicate the maximum number of delegates to be supervised by one Instructor at any one time during each activity.
