Industrial Firefighting Training [Referred to NFPA 1081 Standard

1.Target Group
This course is appropriate for all industrial emergency response personnel, including fire prevention, suppression, control, and safety personnel. Potential
attendees could include Plant operators, Plant maintenance personnel, Laboratory personnel, Engineers, Electricians/Instrumentation techs and Security
personnel

2.Delegate Pre-requisites
There are no formal pre-requisites for this Training programme.

3.Physical and Stressful Demands
Training and assessment activities contained within this Standard may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who
participate in such activities must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully. Therefore to ensure that prior to participating in practical
exercises, the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing appropriate medical screening form provided by QISC.

4.Aims and Objectives
This course is designed to meet the objectives outlined in the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1081 Standard for Industrial Fire Brigade
Member Professional Qualifications (2012 Edition) Chapters 5 and 7.
This course will provide your new brigade members, as well as existing emergency response personnel with a solid foundation of knowledge and skills
that may be used to safely resolve emergencies involving interior fire at an industrial facility. All of this is accomplished through a combination of classroom
presentations and field exercises.

6.Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
Delegate Performance Assessment: Delegates will be assessed against the knowledge learning outcomes by written, open-book test and the practical
learning outcomes by direct observation.
Certification: QISC certification with no formal expiry date. However, it is recommended that delegates to take one day refresher course as a minimum
annually.

The instructor & delegate ratio for this course is 1:8

8.Duration and Timing
The optimum ‘contact time’ for this programme is 40 hours (4 Days) for 16 delegates
 Classes with less than 8 candidates – 3 days
 Classes with more than 8 candidates – 4 days
