Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) Awareness

1. Target Group
This four-hour course is designed to address the basic training requirements for personnel who need to work with energized equipment or machinery.

3. Physical and Stressful Demands
There are no physical and stressful demands in this course, however the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing appropriate
medical screening form provided by QISC in order to ensure that the delegates are fit and well to participate fully.

4. Aims and Objectives
The aims and objectives of the training are to address the practices and procedures necessary to disable machinery or equipment, thereby, preventing the
release of hazardous energy while employees perform servicing and maintenance activities.

5. Learning Outcomes / Assessment Criteria
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
 Understand the definition of Lock Out and Tag Out (LOTO)
 Recognized types of LOTO
 Recognize situations where Lockout / Tag-out is needed
 Know when LOTO should be applied
 Explain the hazards associated with inadequate LOTO
 Determine LOTO – Permit to Work requirements
 Understand the common facts and causes of accidents
 Understand the definitions and responsibilities

6. Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
Delegate Performance Assessment: This is an awareness course and includes observational written assessment
Certification: QISC Approved Certification with Three years validity
