NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (eLearning)
1. Target Group
This training course is suitable for managers and supervisors or other employee representatives and covers the primary legal requirements as laid out in
International Labor Organization (ILO) conventions and recommendations and documented best international practices for managing health and safety
in the workplace.
2. Delegate Pre-requisites
There are no prerequisite entry requirements for this qualification. Although students will find it helpful to have already achieved certification of a NEBOSH
International Award level qualification first as this greatly improves a students’ potential end-result.
3. Physical and Stressful Demands
All personnel who participates in practical activities specified in this course must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully. All students will be
asked to complete a Qatar International Safety Centre standard medical questionnaire prior to course commencement.
4. Aims and Objectives
This course aim to provide broad understanding of health and safety principles and practices, enabling candidates to effectively discharge workplace
health and safety responsibilities in all parts of the world. It also provides sound basis for evaluating hazards and risks in any business and in any countries.
5. Learning Outcomes
The learner will be able to:
Identify International Standards for health and safety at work
Understand the implementation of health and safety management systems
Identify workplace hazards
Identify methods of hazard control
Understand the practical application of knowledge
6. Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
There are three major course units (IGC1, IGC2 & GC3) to successfully complete before you become fully certified with the NEBOSH IGC qualification.
Written Exam Papers
Examinations comprise of two 2-hour written papers for each of the core unit modules (namely IGC1 & IGC2), which means there are two, 2-hour
examinations in total. For each of the written papers (IGC1 & IGC2) the exam questioning format consists of one long answer question and ten short
answer questions – all of which you should attempt to gain maximum marks.
Practical Exam Papers
In addition, students must complete a practical inspection report assessment for unit GC3. The practical paper GC3 consists of carrying out a risk |
assessment of a workplace and preparing a short report. NEBOSH certification (certificate issuance will take minimum of 30 days from
the course completion)
