QISC Defensive Driving – Light Vehicle

1.Target Group
The Course is designed for employees who drive a motor vehicle in the Middle East.

2.Delegate Pre-requisites
Hold a valid Qatari or GCC driving licence for a light vehicle

3.Physical and Stressful Demands
Training and/or assessment activities contained within this course may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who
participate in such activities must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully.
Therefore, to ensure that prior to participating in practical exercises, the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing appropriate
medical screening form provided by QISC.

4.Aims and Objectives
This training course aimed to enhance the skills of company – based personnel on defensive driving. This training will help drivers to become better by
observing safe practices, like making sure that they are fit to drive and that their vehicles are safe to drive and defensive by exhibiting traits like courtesy
on the road and by following rules and regulations.

5.Learning Outcomes / Assessment Criteria
By the end of this course, the driver should be able to:
 Perform all pre-driving checks.
 Drive the vehicle safely, lawfully, and correctly whilst interacting with other traffic.
 Keep a safe space on all sides of the vehicle in all traffic conditions.
 Observe, recognise, and correctly respond to all potential and actual hazards, and use the most effective hazard approach procedure.
 Communicate correctly and appropriately with other road users.
 Drive the vehicle at a speed commensurate with the condition of the load, road, traffic, and environment conditions.
 Give an appropriate commentary whilst driving.
 Maneuver safely and efficiently in a restricted space.

6.Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
Delegate Performance Assessment:

Theory: There will be an interactive class discussion and verbal questioning throughout the session. There will be a written examination in the form of a
multiple choice paper.

Practical: The practical driving session will be assessed with respect to the learning outcomes. Briefings will be given relating to specific tasks to be
achieved whilst driving. Each driver must be able to successfully perform each of these tasks in order to be recorded as competent. Assessment feedback
will be provided at the end of the session.

Certification: QISC Certification with 2 Year validity.

Practical 1:4 (per ½ day)
