Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Road Driver

1.Target Group
All Driver of vehicles that are engaged in the transportation, loading and offloading of dangerous goods as defined within the carriages of dangerous goods
by road regulations.

2.Delegate Pre-requisites
Defensive Driving Course – Valid competent level certification

3.Physical and Stressful Demands
Training and/or assessment activities contained within this course may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who
participate in such actives must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully.
Therefore, to ensure that prior to participating in practical exercises, the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing appropriate
medical screening from provided by QISC.

 Emergency Procedures
 Signage, Placarding, Labeling and Packing groups
 Loading and unloading
 Required Documentation
 Journey Management Plan
 QP Procedure

5.Learning Outcomes / Assessment Criteria
By the end of this course, the driver should be able to:
 To know and understand the roles and responsibilities of the vehicle driver while transporting Dangerous goods
 Importance of PPE and Documents
 Pre-use check, vehicle condition and security
 Recognize safe working practices
 loading and unloading materials
 Understand what to do in an emergency situation

6.Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
Delegate performance Assessment:

Theory: There will be an interactive class discussion and verbal questioning throughout the session. There will be a written examination in the form of a
multiple choice paper.

Practical: The practical driving session will be assessed with respect to measurement of the objectives and their subsets. The driver may be asked simple
questions periodically in relation to the driving environment. Briefings will be given relating to specific task to be achieved whilst driving. Each driver must be
able to successfully perform each of these task in order to be recorded as competent. Assessment feedback will be provided at the end of the session.

Certification: QISC Approved Certification with 3 year Validity
