IOSH Working Safely v5.0 (Chalk & Talk)

1. Target Group
Working safely is designed for anyone, in any sector, worldwide that provides the knowledge and tools required to work safely.

2. Delegate Pre-requisites
Delegates are required to have an ability to read and understand English language as this course will be delivered only in English.

3. Physical and Stressful Demands
All personnel who participates in practical activities specified in this course must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully. Therefore to
ensure that prior to participating in practical exercises, the delegates will be required to undergo medical screening by completing appropriate medical
screening form provided by QISC.

4. Aims and Objectives
The aim is to provide delegates with an understanding of how their actions in the workplace contribute to health and safety. Also to ensure that delegates
clearly understand their health and safety responsibilities.

5. Learning Outcomes
The delegate will be able to:
 Identify why it is important to work safely
 Identify everyone’s responsibilities in relation to safety, health and wellbeing in the workplace
 Define key terms in health and safety
 Identify workplace hazards and risks, their impact and how to control them
 Identify ways safety, health and wellbeing are managed and improved within the workplace

6. Delegate Performance Assessment / Certification / Validity
Delegate Performance Assessment: Delegates are required to take one of the four standard assessments under examination conditions. Based on the
learning objectives, all delegates should be assessed in two ways:
Part A: Knowledge and comprehension – this consists of 20 questions in a variety of formats. Each paper has a maximum of 33 marks and a minimum of
20 marks.
Part B: Practical application of learning – this consists of four hazardspotting questions plus four questions about harm caused about the hazards and the
best ways to control it. Each paper has a maximum of 16 marks and a minimum of 10 marks.
Minimum overall mark required: 30
Certification: IOSH certification (certificate issuance will take minimum of 30 days from the course completion)
